This event in the history of Christianity is recorded in the Book of Acts 11:26 . Apostle Peter Himself established his See 37 AD. Bishop Geevarghese Mor Gregorious (Parumala Kochuthirumeni) blessed a Sunday School in the name of St.Mary at Pazhamthottam on the plot donated by Late Varkey Chalakkattukudy in 1896. Believers in and around pazhamthottam were the parishers of age old St.Marys Church Morakkala situated around 3 kms west of pazhamthottam. Our ancestors took constant efforts for the spiritual upliftment of the believers and a Chappel started functioning in the sunday school on 24th April 1954. Rev.Fr. K. C. Geevarghese (Kizhakkeppurath Achan) was deputed from our mother parish to offer Holy Mass on alternative sundays.
